I am Second in Science at a secondary school in Leicester with over 7 years of teaching experience in three other schools across the midlands. I am writing this blog for anyone who wishes to learn some interesting science experiments that can be done in schools or sometimes at home.
Take and empty Pringles can and with a pair of sharp scissors cut a hole about 0.5cm diameter in both ends. Connect a piece of rubber tubing and connect it to a gas tap. Fill up the Pringles can with methane gas usig the tube and by covering the other hole up with your finger. Finally, place it on a tripod with the plastic lid facing down. Light the metal end usig a match and stand well back. It will catch fire and then the flame will seem to disappear, dont worry it takes abotu a minute or so. Once it has the correct proportions of gas and air it will explode and the Pringles can should launch.
